Galatasaray have reportedly told Chelsea they can have winger Arda Turan in exchange for £7 million and Didier Drogba. The Turkish club have been chasing Drogba for months and feel they have a serious chance of landing their man due to Chelsea’s interest in Turan. Turan is rated at £18 million and is considered to be one of the most dangerous attackers in world football at the present moment, he is known not only for his exceptional dribbling skills, but the goals he offers from a wide position. He struck 25 goals in the 2009-10 season but endured an injury-hit year last season. He has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham in the past and comes highly recommended from former Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink.

Drogba is being chased by a number of European clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and his former club Marseille. His move away from the club is far from certain however with new boss Villas-Boas considering keeping him and pairing him with Fernando Torres in a strike force that failed miserably last season. Another Turkish side Besiktas, have also tabled a £6 million offer for full-back Jose Bosingwa who was out of favour last season but seems to be rated by Villas-Boas so may remain at the club.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins believes that the new manager must win over the high-profile names in the dressing room if he is to be successful at the club. The 33-year-old was appointed last week following a successful stint at Porto and Wilkins believes he will still need to prove himself to established and opinionated professionals John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba. He told the Daily Express, ‘He is a young man who has done exceptionally well but it is a massive test coming in at Chelsea as they have big players and big personalities in there as well’.
