United lost the Manchester derby 1-0 to rivals City last Monday, and as such are now behind their cross-town opponents on goal difference at the top of the table. With City going to Newcastle, United will have their fingers crossed for dropped points but will need to win their game to keep in the race. A more attacking lineup than the one that played in the derby is expected, with Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez likely to lead the line due to Danny Welbeck’s injury. Sir Alex Ferguson will urge his team to forget about City and ensure they beat Swansea. Bwin have the hosts as overwhelming favourites at odds of 1.15.
Swansea don’t have too much to play for as they are in the safety of mid-table after a wonderful debut campaign in the English top flight. Brendan Rodgers’ men have played some exceptional football this term however, and will look to add United to their list of scalps this season. In Gylfi Sigurdsson they have an in-form attacking midfielder who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and the visitors will show no fear. Bwin give odds of 15.00 for a Swans win.
United should win this one, but will not romp away with the game. My Premier League football betting tip is a 2-1 win to United, which Bwin have at odds of 10.00.
