Manchester United remain in limbo over the future of top-target Wesley Sneijder after the player admitted he is happy to remain at Inter Milan. The Dutch international is valued at £35 million and United are said to be willing to meet the price as well as his wages of around £200,000 a week. Sneijder has warned however that he will only leave the club if the club decide to sell him, he stated, ‘I would like to remain. I have marvellous team-mates. My captain, Javier Zanetti, has an extraordinary character, he has kept us together even at times when the morale was low. My wife, Yolanthe, and I love Inter, the Italian fans and Italy. Of course, if the club decided to sell me, I will go wherever they tell me to go. But I’d be disappointed’.

The Dutch midfielder joined Inter Milan from Real Madrid in 2009 and helped the club win the Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia in his first season in Milan. He is regarded as the best creative midfielder of his kind, alongside the likes of Andres Iniesta and Xavi of Barcelona. He is under contract until 2015 but is seen as the ideal replacement for Paul Scholes who retired at the end of last season. Sir Alex has already secured the signings of Ashley Young, David de Gea and Phil Jones in the close season and wants one more player to attempt to topple Barcelona in the Champions League next season.

Meanwhile, Gary Neville has claimed that Manchester United will not see rivals City as their main challengers for the Premier League next season. He stated, ‘You can’t say that City are the No1 rivals at this moment because Chelsea still finished second last year and were the Double winners the year before. But City, Liverpool and Arsenal are all going to be there again, knocking on the door’. The latest news can be found at www.manutd.com.
