Germany and Greece lock horns in Euro 2012 quarter-final number two, with the might of Group B’s winners taking on the doggedness of Group A’s runner’s up.
Germany have lived up to their tags of one of the tournament’s favourites, and as such have won three out of three games so far. Joachim Low’s men scored five goals in Group B to top the pool, and strikes from Lukas Podolski and Lars Bender in the win over Denmark continued their perfect record. The Germans will be happy with the draw, and already some people are stating that a Germany vs Spain final is inevitable. Bwin have Germany as overwhelming favourites at odds of 1.33 to win.
Greece have been one of the surprise packages of the tournament to date, and qualified as Group A’s runners up with a win in their final fixture. Fernando Santos’ men beat the highly-fancied Russians 1-0, with Giorgos Karagounis netting the winner on the stroke of half-time. The Greek team have shown that they have the will to win and a never-say-die attitude, and as such Germany must not underestimate their opponents. Bwin have Greece at odds of 9.25 to claim an unlikely victory.
Germany are red-hot favourites, but Greece will be no pushovers and will make it difficult. That said, my Euro 2012 football betting tip is a 1-0 win to Germany, which Bwin have at odds of 6.00.
