Highly-rated Denmark international Christian Eriksen has claimed he turned down a switch to Manchester City.
The Ajax midfielder, who is just 19, is being coveted by a host of Europe’s top clubs but Eriksen has insisted he will stay in Holland until he believes he can hold down a starting place elsewhere.
He told SkySports, ‘My agent told me about interest from Manchester City, but it is nothing I thought about. There is no point moving to a club where I will sit on the bench. If I moved to City there would be a big risk’.
