England have moved up to fifth in the FIFA world rankings following their recent friendly wins against Spain and Sweden.
Fabio Capello’s side ran out 1-0 winners in both games to move up from seventh in the standings, whilst world and European champions Spain hold onto top spot. Holland remain second but Germany have closed the gap following a 3-0 success in the recent friendly between the two sides. Copa America champions Uruguay remain fourth whilst Portugal climb into seventh and Croatia into eighth.
The Republic of Ireland have risen to 21 after their recent Euro 2012 qualification whilst Scotland and Wales sit in spots 49 and 50 respectively.
