After finally landing Liverpool’s main transfer target Charlie Adam last week, Kenny Dalglish has promised fans to have no fear of the checkbook tightening up. The Reds are currently on tour in Asia, and remain favorites to land Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing despite having a 15 million bid rejected by the Villains last week.
A number of fringe players could be set to leave Anfield and Dalglish said: ‘We are happy with the business we have done so far.
‘Hopefully we will do some more business before the window closes but I’m not going to give names because that’s disrespectful.
‘We are looking to bring other players in and that could mean we expect some to leave. That’s football but we have a while to go yet and we’ll see what we can do.’
Raul Meireles and Alberto Aquilani are both believed to be on their way to Serie A clubs, though no bids have been tabled for either player.
On the other side Liverpool are looking to sign left-back Aly Cissokho of Lyon, and could also make an attempt on Manchester City winger Adam Johnson. Roma goalkeeper Doni is set to have his medical at Melwood this week.
