Consecutive wins against Wolves and Bolton were undone last Sunday, as a Robert Huth goal resulted in a 1-0 Stoke victory over The Toffees at Goodison Park.
Despite Arsenal’s resurgence of late and Everton’s inconsistency, Coleman is confident of leaving North London with three points.
“In the derby there was the sending off as everyone knows, while against Manchester United we dominated the game but we just could not get the goal we needed to at least get a point, but hopefully that will change on Saturday and we can get the win,” the Republic of Ireland international told evertontv.
“We are going to try and win the game like we always do. Sure it would be good to come out with at least a point but we always feel we can beat the big teams when we come up against them. It will be tough, no doubt about it, but we are going there to try and win.
“It will be hard to keep a clean sheet but that’s what we will be looking to do and then get a goal at the other end. It is not going to be easy but we will be confident,” he stated.
The fixture will be the first time that Mikel Arteta faces his former club, and despite having personal relationships with the Spaniard, Coleman admits the Merseysiders will put them to one side for 90 minutes.
“I am sure it will be a bit weird for Mikel Arteta playing against Everton for the first time. He was at the club so long and is loved by everyone here and it will be a big day for him, but on the day, we will be looking to get one over him,” he concluded.
