'What a game. What an opponent'
Klopp said he had to catch his breath after a stunning match which was played at a near-empty Anfield because of the coronavirus pandemic.
"What a game, what an opponent, what a performance from both teams.
"We have to learn from it, 100 per cent. We've had sloppy moments before and not been punished for it but this is good because we have to learn from it. Credit to Arsenal for being there and using it," Klopp said.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, speaking to BBC Sport: "For moments it was Liverpool against Pope, he did really well, but we should have scored. We did everything right and he made saves but we should have scored more, that's on us.
Brighton manager Graham Potter speaking to Match of the Day: "Its not an ideal start and it's my responsibility - I asked them to play that way, the decision making could be better but they showed personality to claw back into the game.
"We've always focused on the game and that won't change," said Klopp.
"We didn't come here and have the numbers we have because we thought about breaking records.
"Hopefully in the future, when the record ends or the season ends, I can start thinking about it.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola said: "I'm delighted. Congratulations to the team, we beat the champions with the quality they have.
"I saw in the guard of honour how incredibly focused they were, how they shouted.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports: "Imagine how this stadium would have been full today and all the people could have experienced it live.
"I don't think the game could have been better because my boys played like everybody was in the stadium.
"The two goals come from us having possession and they punished us on the transition," Howe said. "It was a ruthless game for us today because I don't think we did much wrong."
The victory was Liverpool's 22nd successive Premier League win at Anfield, breaking the English top-flight record set by Shankly's team in 1972.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "I liked a lot how we started. We scored a wonderful first goal. But then we weren't good in second ball situations. We have to pick them up much more often.
