Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill has admitted for the first time that speculation surrounding his future is having an effect on his performances.

Cahill has recently been linked with Chelsea, whilst Arsenal and Tottenham both came close to signing him in the summer. The England international is out of contract at the end of the season and has therefore admitted he does not know where his future rests.

He said, ‘There’s no disguising the fact I am out of contract at the end of the season, so there will always be speculation…I will deal with it when and if it comes. Nobody has a crystal ball so no-one has a clue what will happen’.
