Welcome to the preview of the English Premier League match between Manchester United and Everton. The game will be played at Old Trafford on Saturday at 16:00.
Rejuvenated Manchester United
We will witness a clash between two teams that have seen resurrection in recent games. Manchester United fans will be looking forward to this game after two big wins against Tottenham Hotspur and their city rivals, Manchester City. The Red Devils have surprised many people with this sudden revival of form, and few people expected them to beat Manchester City at the Etihad last weekend.
Many people believed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time as the manager of Man Utd was soon to be over. But the Norwegian has defied odds with two important wins against big clubs and come into this game after a 4-0 win in the Europa League against AZ Alkmaar. The likes of Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay, and Daniel James have been central to this run of form, especially the Englishman, who has been in incredible form lately.
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 5 home league games. However, they haven’t managed to keep a clean sheet since September at Old Trafford, when they beat Leicester City 1-0. After their big wins against Tottenham and City, United will be looking for a win here. They will be without Pogba, Bailly, Dalot and Fosu-Mensah for this game.
Duncan Ferguson Inspires Everton
On the other hand, we have Everton who sit in 14th place before this game. Their league form has been frustrating for Everton fans. After their big spending spree in the summer, when they signed the likes of Iwobi, Kean, Gbamin and Gomes, Everton fans expected the club to challenge for the top six. Instead, they have been anxiously looking towards relegation candidates. The abysmal league form has seen Marco Silva sacked and the appointment of the interim manager, Duncan Ferguson.
The club legend has inspired the Toffees towards a 3-1 win against Chelsea in their last game at Goodison Park. It was a great performance, with the players keen to impress the club legend, Ferguson, and the Everton owner, who held a meeting with the players before the Chelsea game. Two goals from Calvert-Lewin and a goal from Richarlison was enough for Everton to beat Chelsea.
The game against Manchester United provides a different prospect for Everton, though. They will face a Manchester United side in form, but we can expect a fighting performance from the Toffees. They will be without Andre Gomes, who sustained a long-term injury earlier in the season, and Coleman, Delph and Gbamin.
What to Expect From This Game
We think that this game will be a very tight one, meaning this may not be one of the best free football betting tips this weekend. Many people expect Manchester United to continue their excellent form, but Everton will not give in without a fight. Even though the home side are slight favorites, we expect Everton to be dangerous from counter-attacks and maybe score. With the likes of Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, and Alex Iwobi, they carry a real threat on the counter. This game is too close to call at the moment.
