Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk admits he is not sure whether Arjen Robben will make South Africa 2010.
The Bayern Munich star picked up a hamstring injury in the 6-1 rout over Hungary and is set to undergo a scan to reveal the extent of the damage.
On as a second-half substitute, the 26-year-old bagged a brace in the friendly before pulling up sharply towards the end and van Marwijk now faces an anxious wait to discover whether his star man will make the finals.
“I would rather lose this match and have Arjen stay fit,” said van Marwijk. “He felt a sharp pain. That does not bode well. But I do not lose hope.”
As for bringing in a replacement for the former Real Madrid and Chelsea ace Van Marwijk said he would wait for the outcome of the scan.
“On that basis, we will make a plan,” he added.
