Arsene Wenger is reportedly lining up a move for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero after Abou Diaby suffered another setback in his fitness battle.

With Jack Wilshere also expected to miss a large chunk of the season, Wenger is understood to be concerned about his depth in midfield and has reportedly deployed a team to Spain in order to thrash out a move for Granero.

The 24-year-old is valued at around £6 million and has also drawn the attention of Malaga, but the player himself is understood to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
