Arsenal racked up yet another victory last night as they overcame Bolton 2-1 in the Carling Cup, whilst they were also boosted by the return of Thomas Vermaelen.

The Belgium international completed 85 minutes for the Gunners and has placed himself firmly in contention to face Chelsea at the weekend, although that may come too soon for the experienced defender.

Vermaelen has other ideas however and stated, ‘It was great to be back and to get time on the pitch. I felt fresh, I’m OK and am available for Saturday’.
