Arsenal have made a sensational bid to bring Chelsea star Alex to the club before the transfer window closes on Wednesday. Desperate Gunners boss Arsene Wenger finally realised he must act after his depleted side were beaten 8-2 at Manchester United yesterday.
Despite becoming a key member of their first team squad, Alex is no longer first-choice at the club and once David Luiz returns from injury, he will find himself on the sidelines once more. The Emirates outfit have contacted Chelsea about a possible move and the Blues are ready to sell. Arsenal value the player at about £7 million but it is unlikely Chelsea will do business for anything less than £10 million.
Arsenal have also been linked with moves for Gary Cahill and Chris Samba but with Wenger believing the prices quoted are too high. He may move for a player with proven experience at the top level of European football. The latest news can be found at www.arsenal.com.
