Full-time Spurs 3-3 Arsenal
That genuinely was a magnificent game of football. The players embrace each other and that’s good to see, because Arsene Wenger didn’t look best pleased as he shook hands with Harry Redknapp at the final whistle.
“Van der Vaart, Fabregas, Modric, Dawson, Sagna, Assou-Ekotto, Van Persie? Man of the Match? Take your pick. Thank you Spurs, thank you Arsenal.”

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp:
“It was a great game to be involved in. We had two teams playing unbelievable football. We couldn’t live with them early on with their passing ability, breathtaking, but we stuck in there and stayed with them and got an equaliser. It looked over at 3-1 – I spoke to Jens Lehmann and he said we looked dead and buried – but it was an amazing performance from us. We have both got attacking flair and go for it. We swarm forward in numbers and so do they. It’s what football is all about – you don’t want to see teams sit back and play for 0-0.”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger:
“It was a game with a frenetic tempo. Of course we have regrets because we were 3-1 up but the second was an outstanding goal and then we conceded a penalty. We had a fantastic attitude in the first half but dropped in the second half because it is a massive advantage playing two games of such stature in a matter of days. It is too short to maintain that pace for 90 minutes.”

Spurs v Arsenal line-ups:
Tottenham: Gomes, Corluka, Gallas, Dawson, Assou-Ekotto, Huddlestone, Modric, Bale, Van der Vaart, Pavlyuchenko, Crouch.
Subs: Cudicini, Kaboul, Lennon, Defoe, Bassong, Sandro, Pienaar.

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Djourou, Koscielny, Clichy, Song, Walcott, Fabregas, Diaby, Nasri, Van Persie.
Subs: Lehmann, Ramsey, Squillaci, Wilshere, Arshavin, Gibbs, Bendtner.

GOAL Spurs 0-1 Arsenal (Walcott)
Arsenal goal: It’s enough to make you forget about goalless draws already. Arsenal spring a shaky looking Spurs backline as Cesc Fabregas slides a lovely pass through to the marauding Theo Walcott and his pace takes him clear, the winger keeping his cool to side-foot low past Heurelho Gomes inside the Spurs box.

GOAL Spurs 1-1 Arsenal (Van der Vaart)
Spurs goal: Well, you didn’t expect dull, did you? Vedran Corluka plays a fine ball through to Rafael van der Vaart on the edge of the Arsenal box and Johan Djorou has slipped which costs him his position – William Gallas tries to get back in but the Dutchman lashes a right-foot shot low into the corner past Wojciech Szczesny.

GOAL Spurs 1-2 Arsenal (Nasri)
Arsenal goal: You knew it wouldn’t be boring, but jeez Louise… Feels like there’s going to be a goal every time anyone attacks and that’s pretty much what has happened – Abou Diaby finds Samir Nasri 25 yards out and the Frenchman’s low drive takes a slight deflection off Michael Dawson before flying past Heurelho Gomes.

GOAL Spurs 1-3 Arsenal (Van Persie)
Arsenal goal: In the space of about five seconds, that’s some of the best football you’ll see all season. After a Bacary Sagna cross is half chested away by William Gallas, Theo Walcott does superbly to stand up a cross and from inside the six-yard box Robin van Persie thumps a header goalwards. Somehow, Heurelho Gomes gets across his line and sticks a right hand out to make a stunning save, but when the ball lands, Van Persie rifles it into the roof of the net. Wonderful stuff.

GOAL Spurs 2-3 Arsenal (Huddlestone)
Spurs goal: Oh, this is just too good. With Gareth Bale off the pitch and Spurs down to 10 men, a cross from the left is headed to just outside the Arsenal box, where Tom Huddlestone catches the sweetest half-volley you could ever imagine in your wildest dreams and the ball just whistles into the left-hand corner of Wojciech Szczesny’s net. This is the best 45 minutes of the season, I’d wager.

GOAL Spurs 3-3 Arsenal (Van der Vaart, penalty)
Spurs goal: Where did Bacary Sagna get to? A pass down the left flank for Spurs finds Aaron Lennon in space and he surges into the box, the England winger felled by Arsenal keeper Wojciech Szczesny. It’s a blatant penalty and Rafael van der Vaart makes no mistake, crashing the ball into the net. Wow.
“Stunning stuff here tonight – but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger clearly has a major problem with the award of the penalty that has drawn Spurs level. Long, long discussion with the fourth official, but looked a fair decision. ”
