Kenny Dalglish has been handed a double injury boost ahead of the Reds trip to Sunderland as Steven Gerrard and Glen Johnson are ready to return to the Liverpool starting line-up this weekend.  The Reds will have a full squad apart from Lucas and Daniel Agger, who has been ruled out for “a few weeks.”

The Reds opened up the season against Sunderland at Anfield, in a match that would define Liverpool’s season to date.  In a match dominated by the Reds, Liverpool failed to put away Sunderland after Luis Suarez opened up the scoring, leading to the first of many disappointing draws at Anfield.  It was no more apparent then last weekend, where the Reds controlled the game from start to finish against Arsenal, however failed to put the Gunners away, allowing Robin Van Persie to gun down the Reds for their first loss of the season at home.

The return of Gerrard will add that creative flair to Liverpool’s side, and the skipper is certainly in line to reclaim his spot in the midfield.  Glen Johnson will likely reclaim his place at right back, though Dalglish could keep Martin Kelly in the side.

Sunderland will be full of confidence following their 1-1 draw with Newcastle as the Black Cats have been in decent form since Martin O’Neill took over at the Stadium Of Light.
