Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has won the Barclays player of the Month award for January. He has produces series of outstanding performancies to help Man United title push and scored six goals during the month, becoming the first played to reach 20 goals in the season in just 23 Premier League matches.
This is the fifth time that Wayne Rooney has won the Barclays player of the month award, placing him level with Steven Gerrard as the player with the highest number of individual monhtly awards. The decison was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football’s governing bodies, the media and fans.
