Liverpool chief Christian Purslow has dismissed claims regarding captain Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres that they will be sold if Liverpool fails to finish in the top four this season. Purslow, a fluent Spanish speaker, told that Liverpool “are not a selling club”. “It is not fair, it’s ridiculous to say that,” said Purslow. “We pay salaries and transfers at the level of the top four in the league. And that’s the level I hope to continue at. We will be in the Champions League, for sure. We are not a selling club. That’s for certain.”
