– Full name Javier Hernandez Balcazar, commonly known as Chicharito was born on 1st of  June 1988 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

-Hernandez hails from a footballing family where both his father, Javier Hernandez Guttierez – former Mexican international, and his grandfather, Tomas Balcazar – played for C.D. Guadalajara, are remembered as major sporting talents.

-The nickname Chicharito he wears on his shirt, comes from the light green eyes he inherited from his father. Hernandez says it has been a family tradition and he is very excited to be conserving the family heritage.

-Chicharito signed his first professional contract at the age of fifteen for C.D. Guadalajara, six years after he first joined the famous Chivas. He played there for four years, netting 29 goals in 79 starts.

-On 8 April Hernandez made a dream move to Old Trafford for an undisclosed fee. However, due to the problems United had granting his work permit, transfer was made official on 1 July, with a condition United play a friendly against Chivas. Hernandez was the first Mexican asset to United, netting a total of 11 goals in 27 appearances.

-Chicharito is also playing in internationals for Mexico, having had his debut on 30 September 2009 against Colombia. So far, he scored 12 times, having played 21 games for El Tricolor.

-At the moment he is being a vital asset for the Red Devils, even though he has more been sitting than playing. His pace is brilliant, experts say he is one of the fastest players in the Premier League. He can assimilate both to the position of a midfielder and a striker.
