Mesut Ozil’s contract track with his club, Arsenal continue to drag on as the player is keen on knowing what will happen to manager, Arsene Wenger.
Notably, people thinks that should Wenger depart, the German international might take the same path, but that’s not the tactician believes.
Speaking to the media in a latest news conference, the Frenchman stated that his future at Gunners is not decisive in Ozil’s decision on whether to stay or leave Emirates stadium.
Wenger believes that it’s normal for the German midfielder to know about technical stuff, but it won’t be the main reason for the 28-year-old to extend his stay.
Nevertheless, the manager is hoping that everything can be concluded soon and that Ozil eventually sign a new deal with Gunners, before his current contract ends in 2018.
One thing for sure, Wenger also added that he is not keen on sharing more details about Arsenal’s contract talks with their star midfielder, since it’s something that should be keep under wraps.
It’s an interesting situation indeed at Emirates as aside from the tactician’s deal which set to end by the end of this season, they also have issues with Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s deals, which both will expire in 2018.
Next summer, if Gunners can’t find an agreement, they might be forced to sell both as Arsenal can lose them for free once their contract is up.
