Tottenham Held, Liverpool Comfortable Winner in Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur once again wasted an opportunity to grab all three points in their Champions League fixture this season as Mauricio Pochettino’s men only able to secure one point against PSV Eindhoven.

Needing a victory to get their UCL dream alive and kicking again, both Tottenham and PSV were putting on an aggressive display as three points are the main target for either sides.

Dominating more of the ball possession, Pochettino’s side didn’t find it easy in breaking down their opponent’s defensive setup, especially during the first 30 minutes of that tie.

It was PSV actually that got themselves in front with Hirving Lozano’s solo effort on 29 minutes as he took advantage over Spurs’ defensive error.

The visitor did not go down easily though as they push forward vigorously to get back into the tie and eventually managed to draw level just before half time break from Lucas Moura’s effort.

Tottenham raised their game even more early in the second period, which resulted in their second goal scored by Harry Kane on 54 minutes.

However, things suddenly turned sour for the away side especially after they loss goal keeper, Hugo Lloris, who got sent off after his clumsy challenge on Lozano.

Playing with just 10 men, the Premier League outfit failed to hold their slender advantage as PSV got back on level terms through Luuk de Jong’s close range finish.

Meanwhile, another EPL side, Liverpool grabbed a comfortable victory as they overcome Red Star Belgrade 4-0 at Anfield Stadium.

Roberto Firmino opened the home team’s advantage with his effort on 20 minutes, which was followed by Mohamed Salah’s goal just before half time break.

After the break, The Reds added two more goal with Salah completing his brace while another one was netted by Sadio Mane, 10 minutes from time.
