Tottenham Hotspur finally able to shake off their so called Wembley issue as this midweek Mauricio Pochettino’s men picked up an important 3-1 in over Borussia Dortmund.
It was an important result indeed that put a positive start for Spurs’ Champions League campaign this season along with putting an end to their disappointment at Wembley this season.
South Korean star, Song Heung-Min opened the scoring for Spurs after just four minutes of play, but that early lead was canceled out by Andriy Yarmolenko who scored seven minutes later.
The home team regained their advantage with an effort from Harry Kane on the 15th minutes, which lasted until half time break despite some controversial decisions from the officials which disallowed Dortmund’s goal.
After the break things continue to look exciting, but luck finally arrived for Spurs at Wembley as they netted a third goal from another Kane’s effort.
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s ambition to bounce back after a thumping from Manchester City fell short as The Reds were held into a 2-2 draw at Anfield.
The visitor got off to a bright start when Wissam Ben Yedder puts them ahead after five minutes of play, which eventually got canceled out by Roberto Firmino on 21 minutes.
Mohamed Salah turned the score line for Liverpool to give them a slender lead going into half time, but midway into that second half the Spanish side equalized through Joaquin Correa.
Another Premier League side, Manchester City got themselves a comfortable 4-0 victory against Feyenoord with Johnn Stones bagging two goals while Sergio Aguero along with Gabriel Jesus each got one for Pep Guardiola’s men.
