Not being considered as one the favorites to even get out of their group, Sweden certainly have surprised many football lovers with their ability in advancing into the quarter final, but the Scandinavian side are not planning to stop as just yet.
Facing up against England this weekend, Janne Andersson’s men want to maintain their giant killing spree so far in this tournament and made their way into the semifinal stage, which will be their first since 1994.
Playing more with team spirit and strong character, Sweden can pose some threat for Three Lions, especially if Andersson’s men are being underestimated by their opponent.
The Blue Yellow squad themselves are set to keep their basic tactical setup, which is a solid defensive play and quick direct counter attack, mostly using their aerial prowess.
England themselves are also aiming for a semifinal spot as they haven’t reached that stage in World Cup since way back in 1990.
That’s why Gareth Soutgate’s men will this their quarter final match against Sweden an opportunity they don’t wan’t to miss, seeing how on paper they might be considered the main favorite compared to their opponent.
Nevertheless, it won’t be an easy task for Three Lions in breaking down their opponent as the Scandinavian side have proven to be a difficult team to break down.
