Spain Securing World Cup Spot, Italy Held

Spain finally clinching their World Cup 2018 spot as La Furia Roja comfortably seeing off Albania’s resistance on Friday fixture with ended in a 3-0 victory for Julen Lopetegui’s men.

Playing in front of their home crowd, Spain didn’t give much chance for their opponent as David Silva and co immediately set themselves on the attack and got themselves in front after 16 minutes of play through Rodrigo’s effort.

Meanwhile, Italy are not looking that bright as they prepare themselves for playoffs following a 1-1 home draw over lowly Macedonia.

Struggling to break down their opponent’s defense, Giampiero Ventura’s men were able to break the dead lock five minutes from half time break through Giorgio Chiellini’s effort.

Keen on doubling their advantage in the second half, Italy found themselves drawing instead when a swift counter attacking play resulting in a Macedonia goal netted by Aleksandar Trajkovski.
