Netherlands Train Ahead of Third Place Battle Against Brazil

Despite the disappointment of failing to reach World Cup 2014 final after suffering a penalty shoot out defeat from Argentina, Netherlands shifted their focus for the upcoming third place play offs against Brazil as Louis Van Gaal’s men are seen preparing for that tie.

The Netherlands held a light training session ahead of their Saturday clash and although playing to determine the third best team is never an exciting enough feel, but players might still be keen on showcasing something on their final game in World Cup.

It’s not a secret that teams are surely not that keen on playing for that third/fourth place play offs as it basically means that they missed out on that one step into the final game.

However, this kind of match normally turned into an exciting battle with teams scoring goals freely as there’s not much pressure felt during the showdown.

Netherlands players might be keen on presenting a farewell gift for Van Gaal, who will be joining Manchester United straight after the World Cup ends, by grabbing that third place seat.

Meanwhile, Brazil themselves should be looking for redemption after that 7-1 thumping by Germany. It will be interesting though to see the reaction of Seleca fans in that third place play offs battle.
