Mourinho Blames Inconsistency for Man United’s Title Challenge Failure

Being considered as one of the favorites to win this season’s English Premier League, Manchester United now must settle for battling second place seat with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Sharing his view about their season, United’s boss, Jose Mourinho, stated that inconsistency has been the main reason for his team’s failure in competing for that title challenge with Manchester City this season.

Mourinho explained that throughout this current season, his side have simply failed to show consistent performances, especially when battling against weaker teams, since they didn’t lost much when playing against fellow top tams.

The Portuguese tactician believes that his side’s inconsistent attitude was key on those results, as they don’t have similar mind set when facing weaker teams, compared to their games against fellow contenders.

Moreover, the former Chelsea boss added that he has discussed the matter with his players and already encouraged them to improve it for next season as it’s an important factor should they are keen on challenging for title again.

Despite not being able to compete with Man City for title, overall, Mourinho said that he is still very pleased with what Man United did in the league this season as they showed improvement compared to his first year at Old Trafford.
