Mourinho Believes Man United Still Need More Signings to Compete in Europe
Jose Mourinho may have been quite pleased with his team’s transfer activity this summer, but that doesn’t mean he believes his side have what it takes to finally compete again with the top European sides.
Sharing his views in a statement quoted on ESPNFC, Mourinho once again saying that it will take at least three transfer windows for him before eventually getting the team that he really wants.
The Portuguese further explain that his new Man United side should be that which can truly put them in top of Premier League again while closing any kind gap they still have with other top European clubs.
Despite admitting the need of another transfer window, Mourinho ensured the fans that United’s current squad will still give their all to compete in every competition they’re in and try to achieve their goals.
Moreover, although his team’s summer spending can’t be considered cheap, the former Chelsea boss think that they’ve been very smart with what they’re doing, including making some early signings.
Mourinho said that normally the prices will go down at the end of every transfer window, but the mega transfer deal involving Neymar somewhat triggered unexpected things in the later part of the market.
