Wales’ memorable Euro 2016 campaign continue as they got themselves through into the last eight of that tournament following a slender 1-0 win over Northern Ireland.
That victory was not an easy one as it was a very tight game for both sides with an own goal from Gareth McAuley turned out as the game’s decider.
Since the first 45 minutes, that match were looking really tight with both teams picked up quite equal amount of opportunities to score, though Wales were much more better in terms of ball possession.
Failing to score after 70 minutes, things finally turned into Wales’ favor five minutes later when Gareth Bale’s excellent low cross was deflected into his team’s own net by McAuley.
Northern Ireland tried hard to get them back into that tie, but none of their efforts were successful as Chris Coleman’s side hold their slender lead until the final whistle was blown.
