Everton’s comfortable 3- 0 win over Newcastle United on midweek brought joy for the Toffees’ manager, Roberto Martinez, and making him more excited was an exceptional performance being put out by his young talent, Ross Barkley.
Barkley marked his fine performance on that day with a sensational goal, running from the middle of the pitch he eluded couple of Newcastle players, before firing a lovely strike into the Magpies’ net.
That performance didn’t go unnoticed by Martinez, who lavished nothing but sweet words for his young midfielder, saying that Barkley is one of the biggest talent in current English football scenes.
Martinez believes that just by checking out the goal he scored on Tuesday, people can already acknowledge the enormous potential that Barkley possessed as he showed a combination of strength, pace and skill in one moment.
Previously the manager has also shouted out his support for England boss, Roy Hodgson, to call up Barkley for the Three Lions’ setup for upcoming World Cup 2014. Martinez is confident that the young midfielder will be able to contribute for his national side on that tournament.
