The battle for league title in Premier League still strongly involving two Manchester teams up till now as both Manchester United along with Manchester City bagged all three points on their weekend fixtures.
Traveling to face Leicester City, Pep Guardiola’s men grabbed an important 2-0 victory as they hold down their eight points lead from second place Man United.
The visitor put on their usual dominant display, but it wasn’t until the 45th minute before they were able to break the dead lock with an effort from their Brazilian international attacker, Gabriel Jesus.
The lead leader didn’t lose their focus in the second half as they immediately doubling their lead, this time with an fine effort from Kevin De Bruyne, making it 2-0.
Despite Leicester efforts to get back into that tie, no more goals were scored afterwards as Man City comfortably holding their two goals lead until the final whistle was blown.
Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, Man United put on a show as they hammered Newcastle United 4-1 with Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic making their return to first team action.
It was Newcastle that got things going on that match as they went one goal up after just 14 minutes of play through Dwight Gayle.
Jose Mourinho’s men reacted positively though as they drew level with an effort from Anthony Martial on 31 minutes.
Just before half time break, the home team turned things around as Chris Smalling scored to make it 2-1 and not long after the restart, Pogba marked his return with a goal, making it 3-1.
The host were not finished as just yet, they kept on pushing forward and eventually grabbed their fourth goal through Romelu Lukaku on 70th minutes.
