Watford were not keen on giving up easily though as they were able to pull two goals back from Troy Deeney’s spot kick and a goal by Abdoulaye Doucouré.
However, the visitor were able to seal the deal when Jesse Lingard netted his team’s fourth soon after Doucoure’s strike, ending that glimmer of hope the home temporarily had.
Meanwhile, contrasting result earned by Tottenham Hotspur as they stumble into another defeat after being beaten 2-1 by Leicester City.
After only picking up a point on their weekend league fixture, Spurs were determined in picking up a victory against The Foxes.
It turned out to be a tough task though for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad as they found themselves going one goal down after just 13 minutes through Jamie Vardy’s strike.
The home side got even more comfortable going into half time break as they added their second with an effort from Riyad Mahrez.
Spurs tried hard to get back on level terms, but they only managed to pull one goal back from Harry Kane’s goal on 79 minutes.
