Contrasting results earned by two Manchester based clubs on their latest English Premier League fixtures this weekend.
Manchester United found themselves stunned after being beaten 2-1 by home team, Huddersfield Town, while their neighborly rival, Manchester City bagged all three points following their 3-0 victory over Burnley.
Arriving into the Saturday tie with a positive mindset following their midweek Champions League victory, Man United tried to take control of things straight from kick off.
However, David Wagner’s men were more than ready to surprise their opponent and that basically what happened when Aaron Moy scored on 28 minutes.
Soon afterwards things got even better for the home side as they were able to double their advantage this time from Laurent Depoitre’s goal.
Man United struggling to break down their opponent’s defense and it wasn’t until the 78th minute before they managed to pull one back through Marcus Rashford.
Unfortunately for Mourinho’s side, they were unable to get the equalizing goal as Huddersfield holding firmly to their 2-1 lead until the final whistle was blown.
Meanwhile, at Etihad Stadium, Man City also had some problems to break down Burnley’s resistance, before Sergio Aguero converted from the spot kick on 30 minutes.
After the break, Pep Guardiola’s men didn’t stop their domination as they added two more goals via Nicolas Otamendi along with Leroy Sane.
Those results puts Man City comfortably sitting top of current Premier League table with four points ahead of their rival, Man United.
