Man United Stumble Against Spurs, Chelsea Stunned by Bournemouth

Manchester United’s ambition to keep the Premier League title race alive gets even harder as they suffered disappointing 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

Keen on showcasing their new force with new signing Alexis Sanchez starting, Man United didn’t seem to give much worry for their opponent as Tottenham got in front within the first minute through Christian Eriksen’s strike.

That early goal made things more difficult for the away team as they suddenly found themselves under immense pressure and struggling to get out of it.

Things got even worse for United when the home team managed to double their lead, this time thanks to an own goal from Phil Jones just before the half hour mark.

Trailing 2-0 down, Jose Mourinho’s men were simply out of it as they can’t seem to find a way back into that tie, allowing Spurs to fully control that tie.

Nothing changed much after the break as Tottenham remain calm and able to handle their opponent’s well as Man United struggle to pose much threat in that half.

No more goals were scored in that game, but 2-0 is more than enough for Mauricio Pochettino’s men to stage their relentless chase for that top four sear in Premier League.

Similar disappointment was felt by Chelsea as the defending champion found themselves getting hammered 3-0 at Stamford Bridge by Bournemouth.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, Antonio Conte’s side suddenly found themselves in deep trouble starting with Callum Wilson’s opener on 51 minutes.

Soon afterwards it was 2-0 when Junior Stanislas netted home the second for Bournemouth, before Nathan Ake pretty much sealed that match with his goal on 67 minutes.
