Man United Second Half Comeback Drowned Crystal Palace

Manchester United got themselves back into the second place seat in current English Premier League standings following their dramatic 3-2 away win over bottom table dweller, Crystal Palace on Monday.

The Red Devils are keen to maintain their wild goose chase on league leader, Manchester City, so nothing but three points are acceptable for Jose Mourinho’s men on that away fixture.

However, it was far from an easy task for the visitor as they found themselves trailing after just 11 minutes of play when Andros Townsend opened the scoring for United.

That slender lead lasted until half time break as United couldn’t get themselves back on level terms during the first 45 minutes.

Things got more complicated for the away team early in the second period as Palace netted their second, this time through Patrick van Aanholt.

Fortunately, not long after conceding that second goal, Man U were able to pull one back with Chris Smalling getting his name on the score sheet.

Smalling’s goal lifted Man United players’ confidence as they pour forward vigorously in search for that second goal, which eventually arrived on 67 minutes courtesy of Romelu Lukaku’s effort.

Just as the match looked to be ending in a 2-2 draw, United completed their turn around thanks to a wonder strike from their midfielder, Nemanja Matic, who hit a long range thunder bold in stoppage time.
