Man United Regained Runners Up Spot After Thrilling Win Over Chelsea

Manchester United successfully got themselves back into second place seat in current English Premier League standings following their massive home victory over rival, Chelsea.

Both teams were determined in grabbing three points as they want to catch up with Liverpool which temporarily gained that runners up after their Saturday’s win over West Ham United.

The match looked cagey in early minutes with Chelsea slightly looking more dangerous as Man United were putting on a more conservative approach.

Chelsea’s positive attitude was finally rewarded as they got themselves ahead on 32 minutes through Willian’s fine shot from inside the penalty area.

However that lead didn’t last long as United got back on level terms after a scrappy play inside The Blues’ penalty area which led into Romelu Lukaku getting free and slotted the ball home.

Drawing 1-1 in the first 45 minutes, both teams continue their attacking approach, but it was Man United that had the better luck in that second period as they turned things around with Jesse Lingard’s header.

It was another defensive error from The Blues back line that found themselves getting stretch an leaving Lingard free inside the penalty area without any one marking.

Antonio Conte’s men tried hard to get themselves back into that tie, but none of their efforts were successful as Man United holding on to their slender lead until the final whistle was blown.
