Man United Advanced Into Europa League Final After Eliminating Celta
Manchester United are one step away from finishing their season with another trophy as Jose Mourinho’s men made it into Europa League final.
The Red Devils eliminated Spanish side, Celta Vigo 2-1 in total aggregate as both teams drew 1-1 in their second leg battle at Old Trafford on Thursday.
Taking a slender 1-0 away from home is never a guarantee and the midweek tie surely prove it as everything was quite nervy until the very end.
Things actually looking really bright for Man United early on as they found themselves taking a 1-0 lead after just 17 minutes of play through Marouane Fellaini’s goal.
That lead lasted until half time break and it looked like the home team got everything under their control.
However, that game almost took a different turn when five minutes from time, Facundo Roncaglia equalized for Celta, which means that another away goal for the visitor will put them through into to the final instead of their opponent.
That situation escalated quickly as both teams suddenly found themselves having to play with 10 men each with United losing Eric Bailly while the Spanish side got their scorer off the pitch.
Fortunately for Man United, they are able to hold into their slender aggregate lead until the final whistle was blown and booked themselves a final date with Ajax Amsterdam.
