Manchester City’s unbeaten run in English Premier League this season finally ended as Pep Guardiola’ s men were beaten by Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
The match was a thrilling encounter which ended with seven goals as both were showcasing their attacking prowess throughout the full 90 minutes.
Playing at home, Liverpool were pushing hard early on and they found themselves in front after just nine minutes of play through Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
However, that lead didn’t last until half time break as Man City got back on level terms through Leroy Sane’s effort on the 40th minutes.
The Reds regained their lead early in the second period as Roberto Firmino puts them ahead again on 59th minute.
This time, Jurgen Klopp’s men were able to extend their advantage as two minutes later Sadio Mane made it 3-1, before Mohamed Salah netted a fourth on 68th minute to give them massive command.
Man City didn’t gave up easily as they continue to pour forward and pulled one back through Bernardo Silva on 84 minutes and Ilkay Gundogan did create a nervy last few minutes with his stoppage time goal that made it 4-3.
Meanwhile, another disappointing result earned by Arsenal as they found themselves beaten 2-1 by Bournemouth.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, the Gunners actually managed to get themselves ahead with an effort from Hector Bellerin on 52 minutes.
However, the home team’s resilience paid off as they got back on level terms through Callum Wilson on 70th minute, before Jordon Ibe turned things around with his goal just four minutes later.
