Man City Slipping Again as Tottenham Move Second

Manchester City haven’t been experiencing much joy in the last week of December as Pep Guardiola’s men suffered another defeat in Premier League.

After losing 3-2 against Crystal Palace in previous fixture, on boxing day, City got beaten 2-1 by Leicester City.

Similar to their math versus Palace, Guardiola’s side actually started strongly as they got themselves in front after just 14 minutes of play through Bernardo Silva’s effort.

However, that lead only lasted for five minutes as the home team got back on level terms with an effort from Marc Albrighton, forcing the first 45 minutes to end in a 1-1 draw.

City try to push forward more in the second half as they are determined in pushing for that second goal.

However, it was Leicester that got their second instead with Ricardo Pereira netting home for his side on 81 minutes.

Things got worse for the visitor as they have to finish the match with only 10 men after Fabian Delph sending off within just a minute before the final 90.

Despite their relentless effort during stoppage time, Man City failed to get an equalizing goal as they have to accept another disappointing result.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur now moving themselves into second place seat after picking up a massive victory over Bournemouth.

Korea Republic star, Son Heung-Min continuing his fine form as he netted two goals, while Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane along with Lucas Moura also found the net for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Tottenham are now one point ahead of Man City and six behind current league leader, Liverpool, which also won their boxing day match 4-0 over Newcastle United.
