Man City and Arsenal Continue Winning Run in Premier League
Chelsea may have secured the Premier League title on Friday, but there’s still plenty to play for in the top half of the league as two final top four seats are still up for grasp.
This Saturday, two strong candidates for that Champions League spot, Manchester City along with Arsenal, proving that they are worthy challengers.
Man City grabbed a slender 2-1 win over Leicester City which temporarily putting Pep Guardiola’s men sitting third in current standings.
That game looked to be a comfortable one for the Etihad based outfit after 40 minutes of play which saw them went two goals up over their opponent.
David Silva opened the scoring for the home side with his close range finish after 29 minutes and soon afterwards it’s 2-0 with Gabriel Jesus converting a spot kick.
However, a late strike from Shinji Okazaki during that first period triggered a much more exciting second period.
Leicester almost found themselves an equalizing goal but Riyad Mahrez saw his penalty effort disallowed after touching the ball twice in the process.
Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to put on a convincing display as they don’t give up their surge for that fourth place seat.
Playing away from home against Stoke City, Gunners went on to win 4-1 with Olivier Giroud grabbing a brace while Mesut Ozil along with Alexis Sanchez also got their name on the score sheet.
Stoke themselves only managed to pull one back through their veteran striker, Peter Crouch who scored on 67 minutes.
