Madrid Lift UEFA Super Cup After Slender Win Over Man United
Real Madrid adding another trophy into their long list of collection early this season as Zinedine Zidane’s men got hold of UEFA Super Cup trophy following their victory over Manchester United.
Both teams were keen on winning the cup as they put on a strong effort since kick off, despite not at their best fitness wise as just yet, but neither gave up easily as they pour forward vigorously since kick off.
In such tight encounter, it was Madrid that showed their quality and composure as the Champions League winner snatched the opening goal through Casemiro’s effort on 24 minutes.
That lead lasted until half time break as Jose Mourinho’s team couldn’t find an answer during the first 45 minutes with Los Blancos successfully putting on solid defensive display.
Things looked to be getting easier for Madrid early in the second half when Isco made it 2-0, but United’s summer signing, Romelu Lukaku sparked a potential come back after pulling one back on 62 minutes.
Despite both teams efforts, neither were able to score more goals as Zidane’s men see through a late surge from The Red Devils and secure that slender 2-1 victory over the Premier League outfit.
