Liverpool made their way into the final of UEFA Champions League after eliminating Italian side, AS Roma this midweek.
Carrying a pretty solid 5-2 first leg advantage, The Reds were literally gasping in the end as they found themselves only having 7-6 total aggregate lead against their opponent.
Roma started off in a positive and aggressive manner, but put themselves on trouble as their defensive error allowed Jurgen Klopp’s men to lead 1-0 with Sadio Mane scoring.
The Italian side thought they catch another break when they drew level on 15 minutes thanks to an own goal from James Milner.
However, the away team got themselves another advantage as another defensive error was pounced on by them, this time it’s Georginio Wijnaldum who headed home to make it 2-1 for Liverpool.
Heading into the half time break with that lead, things didn’t come easy for the Premiership outfit as Roma never really given up until the last whistle.
Despite missing several opportunities, the Italian side finally managed to get themselves back on level terms through Edin Dzeko’s finish.
Just when the match looked to be done and dusted, once again Liverpool let themselves down as their opponent netted two late goals from Radja Nainggolan’s brace.
Eventually The Reds’ survived a potential extra-time addition, which could easily happened since the Italian side had enough chances to score more than one additional goal in that second period.
Nevertheless, Liverpool got through and in for a shot to win this season’s Champions League as they face up against two time defending champions, Real Madrid.
