A shock which not many people dare to predict occurred in World Cup 2014 as defending champion, Spain failed to progress into the next stage of that major tournament after picking up their second group stage defeat.

After suffering a humiliating 5-1 defeat from Netherlands, it was Chile’s turn to overcome La Furia Roja as goals from Eduardo Vargas and Charles Aranguiz marked Spain’s disappointing performance on that day.

Vicente Del Bosque’s men have conceded seven goals from just two matches, an enormous number of goals which brought disappointment for their fans as it’s not very common to see La Furia Roja conceded so many in a major competition.

Although there’s an air of disappointment, Spain fans must accept the fact that it maybe time for them to build a new era after dominating the international scenes in the past six years.
