Japan Heading Into Knock Out Stage Despite Losing to Poland

Japan become the only Asian representative still participating in World Cup 2018 as they made their way into the last 16 in such fortunate fashion despite  losing 1-0 against Poland.

Needing at least a draw on their final group game, Blue Samurai were determined in grabbing maximum points early on as they were pushing hard since kick off.

It was far from an easy task though for Akira Nishino’s men to break down Poland, that were playing without much pressure as they already out of the tournament.

Despite creating several good chances neither teams were able to covert their opportunities into goal during the first 45 minutes, forcing both sides into settling for a goalless 45 minutes.

Nothing really changed much after the break as both teams still trying their best in getting goals, especially Japan.

However, instead of getting the break though, the Blue Samurai found themselves trailing when Jan Bednarek puts them in front on 59 minutes.

That goal somewhat put Japan under more trouble as their feeling an extra pressure of having to push even forward and losing more ground at the back.

However, after supposedly hearing news on Colombia against Senegal game, it seems like the Asian side eventually opted just to hang on into 1-0 defeat since it’s apparently enough to put them through.

Knowing that Senegal were losing 1-0, Japan simply except the fact they’re losing against Poland since Ninshino’s men are through due to fair play rule as both teams have the same points and goal difference.
