Just as it was expected by many football enthusiasts, Manchester United’s young talent, Adnan Janujaz’s decision in choosing Belgium as his national side will get a recognition as Marc Wilmots included the youngster for Rote Deuvils’ World Cup preparation squad consisting of 26-27 players.
Speaking to local media in Belgium as it was quoted on FIFA, Wilmots revealed that Januzaj’s talent along with versatility are the traits that earned the Man United’s man in getting that chance.
Furthermore, the tactician also revealed with injuries for some of their players, especially main striker, Christian Benteke, who will be missing out on the tournament. Januzaj can be considered as an alternative solution for them in the upcoming competition.
“What is sure is that the boy has a very interesting profile in the absence of (injured) Christian Benteke: it is not well known but as a reserve for MU he often played No9. His versatility is an advantage,” Wilmots stated.
Wilmots’ decision in trying out Januzaj isn’t actually a surprise thing since the tactician looked very excited upon hearing that the 19-year-old finally picked Belgium as his national team.
Although some controversy could arrived from some players about the decision in taking Januzaj to Brazil, but considering his talent and current injury situation, the youngster do deserve a chance to prove his worth.
