After being rather quiet in the early stages of January transfer window, Chelsea suddenly made a surprising move by signing Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato on loan for six months from Corinthians.
There’s some questions regarding that signing, as people thinking that it’s another gamble made by The Blues, but their manager, Guus Hiddink denied those claims.
Speaking to the press in a recent news conference, Hiddink stated that taking Pato on loan can’t be considered as a gamble since Chelsea have time to asses the player’s compatibility with Premier League before making anything permanent.
The Dutch tactician believes that taking someone with more experience like Pato is less a gamble than buying any potential talent at this stage of the season.
Although there’s still some uncertainties regarding Pato’s current condition as he hasn’t been playing in Europe for sometime, but Chelsea will try to help the former AC Milan player settling in.
