Manchester City started their season in a positive fashion with an away win over Arsenal, but not everything went smoothly as few days alter they loss one of their star players, Kevin De Bruyne, who got injured during training.
Latest reports suggesting that the Belgium international might be out for three months due to his knee injury and Man City’s boss, Pep Guardiola, believes that lack of rest is what causing it.
Speaking to the media in a recent news conference, Guardiola stated that experiencing such tiring months without much rest simply affecting De Bruyne’s fitness level and pretty much aided to the attacking midfielder’s recent knee problem.
Nevertheless, the Spanish tactician understand that it’s simply the risk that players are experiencing this days, especially for top quality internationals such as the 27-year-old Belgium star.
Although it won’t be a quick recovery period, but Guardiola hopes that De Bruyne can do everything he can and get back into action as soon as possible to help Man City again this season.
The former Chelsea man has been such an important player for City since his arrival back in 2015, but it was last season where he really showcased his prowess for Guardiola’s side.
It will be intriguing to see how long and well can City cope without their star attacking midfielder in this early part of the club’s new season.
