Denmark grabbed the last World Cup 2018 ticket for European nation as they eliminated Republic of Ireland with a 5-1 away win in the second leg of their playoffs fixture.
Drawing 0-0 in the first game, both teams were determined in getting maximum result as each of them have similar shots in getting to Russia.
It was actually Ireland that got off to a bright start as they found themselves leading 1-0 after just six minutes of play through Shane Duffy’s goal.
The visitor eventually manage to draw level on 29 minutes thanks to an own goal by Cyrus Christie, a situation which sparked Christian Eriksen to live.
Soon after that 1-1 score line, Eriksen suddenly showcasing his quality as the Tottenham Hotspur star made it 2-1 on 33 minutes, giving his team a slender lead as they go into half time break.
In the second half, the midfielder continue to showcase his dominance as he added two more goals on 63 and 73 minutes and basically won the match for his country.
Denmark added one more goal in the 90th minute, this time through their striker, Nicklas Bendtner, who converted from the spot kick to close that match in a convincing 5-1 scoreline.
That massive victory certainly brought an extra satisfaction for the Age Hareide’s side as their main joy was securing that World Cu 2018 ticket.
