Another supposedly intriguing UEFA Nations League encounter didn’t really end in the most exciting fashion as Croatia’s battle against England ended goalless, despite both nations’ relentless effort.
The repeat of this year’s World Cup 2018 semifinal tie was being anticipated by many football lovers to offer similar intensity and entertainment, but apparently it wasn’t to be the same.
Playing behind closed doors, the home team didn’t really feel like they have that extra advantage without their loyal crowd pumping up their spirit, giving Gareth Southgate’s men a more comfortable atmosphere.
It was still an intriguing contest with both sides certainly keen on getting all three points to get themselves going in the UEFA Nations League.
However, it was not an easy task for any of those teams to break down each others’ defense as none of their efforts resulted in goals even until the final whistle was blown.
Several dangerous goal scoring chances were not enough to turn into goals as Croatia and England have to eventually settle for a point, which was probably the appropriate score line for that game.
Both national teams could really use maximum points from that match since they didn’t start the competition in a strong fashion as they were beaten by Spain on their previous fixtures.
