England Advanced Into World Cup 2018 Semifinal After Beating Sweden

England making their way into a dream World Cup 2018 as Gareth Southgate’s men successfully advanced into the tournament’s semifinal stage after eliminating Sweden.

Three Lions looking quite confident in facing their Scandinavian counterpart as Southgate’s side on paper do have slightly better players.

It was a rather slow start though as both teams seemingly playing quite similar approach, with the main difference is only that England are having more of the possession, while their attacking setup looked quite similar.

However, things finally starting to open up for Southgate’s men as they got themselves a goal through Harry Maguire’s header after 30 minutes of play.

That goal made things much more comfortable for the Three Lions as their opponent starting to push forward vigorously in search for an equalizing goal.

In the second half, both teams continue to search for more goals, especially Sweden as they are still trailing from that Maguire’s first half strike.

There were several opportunities created by both teams, but it was eventually England that got their second goal through Dele Alli’s header on 59 minutes.

That second goal pretty much sealed Harry Kane and co’s spot in the next round as it’s getting much tougher for Sweden to catch up since they were struggling to even score one goal.

Getting into the semifinal stage is certainly a massive feat for Three Lions as it’s they first time they achieved since 1990, something that will give them more believe in finally winning the World Cup 2018.
